Purpose of the Project
The agrarian heritage of the Western Reserve and its historic structures are disappearing from our landscape in Northeast Ohio in record numbers. Farming shaped the socioeconomic life of the Western Reserve because families migrated from the east to be productive farmers. Case-Barlow Farm seeks to preserve this history. The Farm is located in Hudson, Ohio, but our strategic plans encompass programs and services to the surrounding communities.
The Case-Barlow Farm project is uniquely different from a museum concept, in that it is an interactive environment with a focus on preservation of original history in the area. The interactive nature of our program will bring to reality farm life through the 19th and 20th centuries. Our programs seek to reach a wide audience. Our focus initially will be elementary through high school students. As our programs flourish, we will expand over the next two to three years to include private schools, home schooled children, and senior citizens groups.
